Employee Recognition Program: Three Superstars Announced

The Employee Recognition Review Committee (R3) of the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Department of Medicine completed its bimonthly review of all nominees and three superstar winners were announced: Deanna Joa, Senior Medical Secretary (Hospital Medicine-Lower Manhattan), Anna Quinones, Senior Medical Secretary (Gastroenterology & Hepatology), and Susan Daniel, Clinical Technician (Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine). Deanna Joa was highlighted for her technological prowess, cultural sensitivity with patients, and her ability to swiftly establish professional relationships. Anna Quinones, also named a Bronze Star Performer, was praised by patients for her exceptional speed and diligence in getting things done, and as one patient said, “faster than anyone I’ve ever met in a doctor’s office…a true star to whom I will be forever grateful.” Susan Daniel was noted for “never cutting corners and never avoiding certain tasks…she stays until the last patient is seen.” (Right Photo) l-r: Dr. Arthur Evans (Chief, Hospital Medicine) and Deanna Joa.
Additionally, Bianca Kumar, Clinical Practice Nurse (Gastroenterology & Hepatology/IBD), was named as a Bronze Star Performer, and the other star performers this cycle were: Jaheidi Fonesca, Clinical Technician (Gastroenterology & Hepatology), Jihan Peters, Operations Assistant (Education), Jeanette Reyes, Administrative Secretary (Iris Cantor Women’s Health Center), Michelle Sanchez, Senior Medical Secretary (Gastroenterology & Hepatology) and Maria Spinelli, NP Staff Associate (Cardiology).
