Deborah Lafer Scher Appointed as Strategic Advisor to the Chairman of the Department of Medicine
The Department of Medicine is pleased to announce the appointment of Deborah Lafer Scher as Strategic Advisor to the Chair of the Department of Medicine. The major focus of this position is to assist the Chairman and the department's leadership in planning and implementing academic and clinical initiatives of the highest strategic importance to the department.
Ms. Scher will work closely with our department's administrative leadership, as well as with our Division Chiefs and Vice Chairs on special projects such as clinical research infrastructure development and clinical program planning.
Ms. Scher received her B.A. from Haverford College and her M.B.A. from Columbia. She is currently the founding president of a healthcare strategy consulting firm. Prior to that, Deborah has served as a senior strategy and operations executive, building several successful healthcare organizations. She has also served on the Board of Trustees of Haverford College. We welcome Ms. Scher to the department.
