John Leonard appointed Director of Clinical Research in Department of Medicine
The Department of Medicine is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. John Leonard as Director of Clinical Research in the Department of Medicine.
In this capacity, Dr. Leonard will have administrative and strategic oversight of all clinical research activities within the department. The Director will be working to facilitate the conduct and coordination of clinical research; develop new departmental infrastructure (including core services) for clinical research; and oversee department-wide strategic planning in clinical research. An important focus will be on collaboration and synergies between clinical research and clinical care activities at WCMC and NYPH.
John Leonard is the Richard T. Silver Distinguished Professor of Hematology and Medical Oncology. He is an innovative, internationally recognized clinical investigator in the area of hematological malignancies. Among his several national leadership positions, Dr. Leonard is the Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma Working Group Leader in the National Cancer Institute-sponsored Cancer and Leukemia Group B (CALGB).
