CEDREC Cores Overview

The Comprehensive Center for Excellence in Health Disparities Research and Community Engagement is composed of four cores:

  • Administrative core, led by Dr. Carla Boutin-Foster, associate professor of medicine in both Departments of Medicine and Public Health at Weill Cornell Medical College, and the Director of CEDREC.
  • Community Engagement and Outreach core led by Dr. Walid Michelen, Chief of Staff at Lincoln Hospital; Dr. Erica Phillips-Caesar, assistant professor of Integrative Medicine at Weill Cornell, and Dr. Kathleen Nokes, professor and the Director of Graduate Program at Hunter School of Nursing.
  • Research core led by Dr. Gbenga Ogedegbe, associate professor of medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine at New York University's School of Medicine and; Dr. Alvin Mushlin, chairman of the Department of Public Health at Weill Cornell Medical College.
  • Research Training core led by Dr. Mary Charlson, the Executive Director of the Center for Complementary and Integrative Medicine and the Chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine at Weill Medical College of Cornell University/New York Presbyterian Hospital and the Program Chairperson for the Master of Science Program in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Services Research and; Dr. Balavenkatesh Kanna, Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center Research Director.
