Weill Cornell Medical College seeks an internationally recognized investigator to become the Founding Director of our new Center for Metabolic Health. The Director will develop a robust, multidisciplinary, interdepartmental research program in the diagnostics and therapeutics of diabetes, obesity and related metabolic diseases. The Director of the Center for Metabolic Health will be a scientist of the highest caliber who possesses outstanding leadership skills and the vision to develop and lead a team of scientists and physician-scientists employing cutting-edge technologies and cross-disciplinary expertise to understand the causes and develop treatments for a variety of metabolic diseases. Appointees in the Center will be from across departments at the Medical College and make use of state-of-the-art cellular and molecular biology, genetics, proteomics, and metabolomics approaches. We are seeking a nationally recognized physician-scientist for Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the Joan and Sanford I. WeillDepartment of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and the New York-Presbyterian Hospital. The candidate would have the opportunity to assume the mantle of Chief for a world-renowned division known for its expertise in inflammatory bowel disease, hepatitis, and GI malignancies. Significant resources will be available to expand the clinical missions of the division, grow the research programs and to foster the mentoring and training of future academic gastroenterologists and hepatologists. We are seeking a nationally recognized investigator to fill the position of Chief of the Division of General Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and the New York-Presbyterian Hospital. The position is endowed by a new Chair, and the Division Chief would be designated the John J. Kuiper Professor of Medicine. Associate Professors as well as Full Professors are eligible for the endowed professorship. In addition to generous resources to expand the Chief’s own research program, for which this would be an exceptional opportunity, the charge is to recruit and build a robust research program in the areas of outcomes and health services research and related fields, including hospital medicine. A significant recruitment package will be provided to enable the new Chief to accomplish these goals. He or she will also have an important leadership position in the Department of Medicine.
The Division already has a well-established and well-supported primary care practice. There is also a strong, academically-oriented hospitalist program.
