Match Results: Medicine Interns 2011–12
This year's annual national ritual of Intern Match Day occurred on March 17, and the Department of Medicine is thrilled with the outcome. After receiving 2,936 applications and interviewing 486 candidates, we filled all 39 of our Categorical and Medical Research track positions and all four of our Primary Care track positions with exceptional graduating medical students. In addition to their uniformly excellent academic records and leadership potential, our incoming interns represent great diversity of ethnic and geographic backgrounds. Twenty-five medical schools will be represented, including Johns Hopkins, University of Pennsylvania, UCLA, Tufts, Washington University, University of Washington, University of Michgan, Brown, as well as seven superstar students from Weill Cornell.
