The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension, Department of Medicine, and the Department of Transplantation Medicine and Extracorporeal Therapy

were well represented at the 2011 American Transplant Congress.

Dr. Manikkam Suthanthiran, Division Chief, delivered the opening plenary session of the congress. He also gave 2 midday symposiums. Dr. Cheguevara Afaneh, a surgical resident working in the laboratory of Dr. Suthanthiran, gave an oral communication and presented two poster presentations from the laboratory. One of his posters was awarded Poster of Distinction. Dr. John R. Lee, a nephrology fellow, presented a poster presentation.
